Dan Klausing
Owner / President

Dan began his career at Elgin Service Center in the late 1960’s working for a two man operation primarily pouring bin foundations . Dan assumed ownership in 1972, turning his company into a corporation in 1974.  By assembling multiple construction crews and aggressively selling and providing quality equipment and service to the local agricultural community, the company began to prosper.  In the late 1970’s, Dan’s vision and commitment to enhance the quality of the product line at Elgin Service Center launched the development of the K Building.  As a member of several of Elgin Service Center’s vendor manufacturing advisory councils, Dan has been a staple in the ag community for many years.  The K Building, now large enough to be a business of its own, has been the pulse of Elgin Service Center for the last 20 years.  While Dan now enjoys leading a less aggressive approach to the everyday routine at Elgin Service Center, he still remains active in selling and leading his two sons and the rest of Elgin Service Center as the owner and president.


Scott Klausing
General Manager

Scott has been the General Manager of the Elgin Service Center Venedocia location since 1992.  In addition to running the day to day operations of the location, Scott is responsible for the long range vision for Elgin Service Center as a whole.  Under his direction, ESC has doubled K Building production volume while adding PowerLift Hydraulic Doors and S.P.M. CNC precision machining to our lineup.


Steve Klausing
Operations Manager

Steve has been with Elgin Service Center since 1988 and currently holds the position of Production Manager.  His responsibilities include establishing the K Building production schedule along with the building crew schedule erecting sold K Building orders.  Steve also is an integral part of the on-farm service provided by ESC for grain bins, dryers and related equipment for area farmers.


Dave Knepper
Office Manager / CAD

Dave has been with Elgin Service Center since 2002 and is responsible for assisting customers and dealers with building inquiries and support. With his computer background, Dave is an invaluable asset to Elgin, as he oversees our CAD department as well as many of our technical issues related to our computer systems and online presence.  Dave also tracks inventory and purchases many of our building components and accessory items.


Doug Hemm
Director of Marketing / Dealer Development

Doug has been with Elgin Service Center since 2008 and is responsible for developing and implementing the Elgin Service Center/K Building marketing strategy as well as developing the K Building dealer network throughout the country. Prior to joining Elgin Service Center, Doug spent 22 years as a lumber wholesaler. Please feel free to contact Doug directly to inquire about K Building dealer opportunities.


Mike Klausing
IT / Systems Analyst

Mike has been with Elgin Service Center since 2019 and is in charge of IT and software design and development.  His responsibilities include the implementation of new software systems and applications, assist with computer related problems as well as identifying ways to improve existing systems.  Prior to joining Elgin, Mike was in customer service and sales for a wholesale distributor as well as Senior Advisor in Technical Support for Apple.


Craig Critten
Shop Foreman

Craig has been with Elgin Service Center since 1991 and is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process of K Buildings. From the time an order is sent into production, Craig will oversee every aspect including the timeliness of fabrication along with overseeing fit and finish and overall building quality.  Craig is also responsible for the accurate and timely production of the PowerLift Hydraulic Door.


Jeff McFall
K Building Sales / Grain Sales

Jeff has been with Elgin Service Center since 2010, previously serving as a manufacturer representative as well as manager of an Elgin Sales office.  Jeff is responsible for K Building  and grain sales in the Venedocia, Ohio sales territory.  Prior to joining Elgin, Jeff owned a construction company that built new housing in the gulf coast region following hurricane Katrina.


Deena Rice
Administrative Assistant

Deena has been with Elgin Service Center since 2011 and is responsible for overseeing the day to day office duties at our corporate office in Venedocia, Ohio.  These duties include payroll, insurance, invoicing and updating pricing in our parts department. It is often Deena’s voice that greets callers into our corporate office. Prior to joining Elgin Service Center she was a team leader/office manager for a local medical office.

Draftsman

Mitch has been with Elgin Service Center since 2014 and is the corporate CAD draftsman responsible for producing all K Building structural drawings as well as grain set up drawings sold through our Venedocia sales office.  Mitch is also responsible for organizing the K Building hardware boxes shipped with all K Building deliveries company wide.


 

Gilboa Office

Owner / General Manager

Ned is the owner and managing member of the Elgin Service Center Gilboa, Ohio location.  Shortly after obtaining his BS in Agriculture from The Ohio State University, he joined Elgin in 1987, serving in several capacities before buying the Gilboa location in 1992.  Currently, Ned oversees the day to day operations of the company, which includes sales, crew scheduling and purchasing.  He is also very involved with service and grain handling repair for                                                      local farmers.


Dan Ellerbrock
K Building Sales Manager

Dan serves as the K Building Sales Manager for the Elgin Service Center Gilboa, Ohio location.  Joining Elgin while still in school at The Ohio State University, Dan became a full time employee upon graduation with a BS in Agriculture Economics.  Dan’s responsibilities include K Building sales as well as overseeing the construction projects from start to finish.  Additionally, Dan handles the marketing and the safety program for this location.

Grain Sales Manager

Wayne is the Grain Bin Sales Manager for the Elgin Service Center Gilboa, Ohio location.  Wayne joined Elgin in 2001 with a degree in Agriculture Business from The Ohio State University.  His responsibilities include the sale and project management for the grain bin and grain handling equipment for this location.  Wayne is also the contact person for local farmers in need of on-farm service and repair of grain handling equipment.

Administrative Assistant

Trina began her career at Elgin Service Center as a part time employee in 1994, prior to becoming a full time employee in 1999.  Her BS in Business Management from the University of Dayton makes her ideally suited as the Administrative Assistant.  Trina is responsible for all office related activities including, but not limited to, payroll and accounts payable and receivables.  It is often Trina’s voice you will hear when you call the Gilboa office.


 

 Kenton Office


Sam Kimpel
Manager / K Building Sales / Grain Sales

Sam is the Manager of the Elgin Service Center Kenton, Ohio location.  In addition to K Building sales, his responsibilities include the sale of both grain bin and grain related equipment.  Sam has been with Elgin since 2009 and had previously worked as the northern territory representative for the Venedocia office.


Brad Epling
Customer Service / Fabricator

Brad has been with Elgin Service Center since 2004 and works out of our Kenton, Ohio location.  His responsibilities include customer service as well as overseeing K Building parts fabrication and auger assembly. Prior to Elgin, Brad worked at a distribution center for a large retail lumber company

Jimmy Ferguson
Field Service / Millwright

Jimmy has been with Elgin Service Center since 2013.  He is responsible for grain related in-field service and new grain installs for the Elgin Service Center Kenton, Ohio location.  Jimmy is also involved in building many of the K Buildings sold in Hardin and Auglaize counties.


 

Pioneer Office


Randy Cochran
Owner / General Manager

Randy is the owner and General Manager for the Elgin Service Center Pioneer, Ohio location.  Prior to joining Elgin in 1996, Randy obtained his BS in Ag Systems Management from Purdue University and worked as a Yield Trial Coordinator for Syngenta Seeds in Woodbury, Indiana.  Once joining Elgin, Randy became the branch manager for the Pioneer office from 1996 to 2000, at which time he purchased the location.


Addy Huffman
Office Manager

Addy is the Office Manager for the Elgin Service Center Pioneer, Ohio location.  She is responsible for the day to day office activities as well as accounting, inventory management and preparing building quotes and sketch drawing for sales presentations.  Prior to joining Elgin in 2019, Addy was a manager for a paint factory that specialized in painted car parts.
