These are the guidelines for Elgin Service Center K Buildings cooperative advertising program. The following should help you in planning your advertising program as well as in obtaining reimbursement for co-op advertising.
1. Any advertising to be used for cooperative advertising credit from Elgin Service Center should be submitted to K Buildings Advertising (Attn: Doug Hemm- office 800-758-0307 mobile 937-216-5620 fax 419-667-2777) prior to production to obtain a firm commitment from Elgin Service Center.
2. Advertising not submitted for pre-approval may not be eligible for reimbursement. Advertising containing just the K Building logo may not receive reimbursement credit.
3. Elgin Service Center will pay up to 50% of the approved K Building portion of the advertising. (Example: If the ad covers equipment from three manufacturers, the K Building portion of the ad would be 1/3 and 50% of1/3 would be 1/6.) Elgin Service Center will not reimburse dealers for desktop publishing, art, and other production costs only for actual broadcast airtime or advertising space costs. Expenses for locally purchased promotional items such as pens, calendars, etc., may be eligible for reimbursement only with the prior approval Elgin Service Center. Items containing names or logos other than your dealership and K Buildings will not be eligible for reimbursement.
4. Expenses for exhibit space, open houses, shows, and state association meetings or other forms of advertising not mentioned here may be eligible for reimbursement with the prior approval of Elgin Service Center.
5. In order to receive co-op advertising credit, three items must be submitted:
- (1) Copies of paid invoices from suppliers (radio station, publication, etc.).
- (2) Copies of the advertising itself (radio commercials, ad, etc).
- (3) A completed “Co-op Advertising Reimbursement Request Form” so Elgin Service Center share of the expense the amount you are asking for can quickly be determined.
6. Reimbursement will be in the form of a rebate on your next purchase equal to or greater than the rebate amount. Rebates submitted but not reimbursed will be paid by check to the dealer by the end of the calendar year. Co-op claims must be submitted within the same calendar year as the advertising event. K Building Dealers must be in good standing with Elgin Service Center and be current with any and all Elgin Service Center invoices.
7. The amount of co-op credit that you may be eligible for is based on your previous years K Building purchase dollars and is as follows:
- Up to $200,000 is eligible for a credit equal to 1/2 of 1% of the purchase amount.
- $200,000 to $299,999 -- is eligible for a co-op credit of $1,000.
- $300,000 to $399,999 -- is eligible for a co-op credit of $1,250.
- $400,000 to $499,999 -- is eligible for a co-op credit of $1,500.
- $500,000 to $599,999 -- is eligible for a co-op credit of $1,750.
- $600,000 or more -- is eligible for the maximum co-op credit of $2,000.
